CELINE DION 2019 MET GALA

CELINE DION WORE A CUSTOM OSCAR DE LA RENTA LOOK TO THE 2019 MET GALA.

THE LOOK WAS INSPIRED BY THE GLITZY COSTUMES OF THE ZIEGFELD FOLLIES, PARTICULARLY ONE JUDY GARLAND WORE IN THE FILM ZIEGFELD GIRL.

ON A BASE OF MESH TULLE USING THE JARDOZI AND AARI TECHNIQUES, BEADERS WORKED WITH GOLD, LIGHT GOLD, SILVER AND MATTE SILVER SEQUINS TO CREATE

A FISH SCALE EFFECT OVER THE LEOTARD AND COLLAR. ON TOP, THOUSANDS OF FRINGES ARE CREATED FROM GOLD MICRO CUT BEADS, STITCHED BY HAND TO

JUST THE RIGHT LENGTH SO THEY FALL INTO AN ARC FROM THE CENTER TO THE END OF THE SLEEVES.

THE CUSTOM ENSEMBLE IS CONSTRUCTED FROM 18 PANELS, HAND-BEADED BY 52 MASTER EMBROIDERERS OVER A TOTAL OF 3,000 HOURS AND WEIGHS OVER 22 POUNDS.

THE MOVIE, THE SETS AND THE COSTUMES ARE SO GLAMOROUS AND BEAUTIFUL THAT WE FELT IT WOULD CONNECT THE AESTHETIC OF CAMP TO OUR HOUSE.

IT’S VERY VEGAS, AND CELINE TO ME IS VEGAS IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WAY. - FERNANDO GARCIA

CELINE'S LOOK WAS TOPPED OFF WITH A CUSTOM HEADDRESS MADE OF GOLD SINGED PEACOCK FEATHERS BY THE MILLINER NOEL STEWART.
